Trade Statistics Show Drops in U.S. Imports & Exports of Packaging Machinery, but Increases for Processing Machinery in 2012

PMMI trade statistics for December 2012 indicate a 4.4 percent contraction for overall U.S. packaging machinery exports in 2012. Reduced demand in Brazil and China played a part: Shipments to Brazil dropped by 20.2 percent, and shipments to China decresaed 16.9 percent compared to the same period in 2011.
