PACK EXPO might be 3 months away, but with show news dominating PMMI in July, you might be forgiven for thinking it was show time a little early.
From brand new outlets to new partnerships and more, July has been an exciting, even record-breaking, month for PMMI, and I’m looking forward to the show more than ever.
Here’s some of the big news that came out in July:
- PACK EXPO International 2012 (Oct. 28-31; McCormick Place, Chicago) sold out of exhibit space. Three months from the big show there’s not an inch of booth space left on the show floor. This is the biggest show we’ve had in ten years, and the number of exhibitors is record-setting.
- EXPO PACK Mexico (June 26-29; Mexico City, Mexico) closed late last month with a bang, hosting record exhibitors and great customer turnout. For me, the most exciting number to come out of this year’s show was 178 – the number of PMMI members on the show floor. That’s up more than 30 percent over 2011 and a sign that we’re really engaging with our trade partners to the south.
- EXPO PACK Guadalajara (Feb. 27-March 1; Guadalajara, Jalisco) was announced. A biennial show that will reach a range of customers from a region that is not as well represented at EXPO PACK Mexico as one might expect, the space sales for the new event are already well on their way to meeting expectations.
- This month, PMMI cemented partnerships with Mintel, and the Sustainable Packaging Council (SPC) to bring expertise to the show floor and released the line-up for our annual Conference at PACK EXPO, which will bring great insight to the conference halls at McCormick Place and provide one more reason PACK EXPO International is a can’t-miss event.
July has been a big month for PMMI’s trade shows and, with things just starting to heat up, you can expect more good news as Oct. 28 approaches.
