Sustainability has been a driving force in the packaging industry for years, moving beyond a trend and into a legitimate and lasting force in the packaging and processing marketplace.
“Sustainability affects suppliers to CPG businesses,” said Tom Egan, vice president of industry services, PMMI. “It’s a factor that we must continue to address because, at its heart, sustainability is about using fewer resources, less utilities, less material, really just the proper amount of packaging to deliver the products successfully to the consumer.”
PMMI has put the spotlight on sustainability at PACK EXPO with conference tracks educating attendees and PACK EXPO Green signage making it easy to find sustainable solutions online at packexpo.com and on the show floor, and the new “Journey to Sustainability” webinar series adds an additional resource that features insight from industry customers.
The series, sponsored by PMMI’s Alliance for Operational Excellence (AIOE) and charter partner the Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA), will focus on sustainability best practices as defined by the AIOE and its member CPGs.
The webinar series will kick off Thursday, May 31, at noon EDT with “Realizing Results,” a program featuring speakers from OBG and The Sunny Delight Beverage Company.
