As business leaders expand their markets, their eyes have been trained on Brazil, Russia, India and China — the so-called BRIC economies.
To help members fill in their gaps in knowledge and develop strategies in one of these markets, PMMI presented a Brazil Market Strategy Workshop Session in conjunction with the Executive Leadership Conference last month. The workshop included information sessions and one-on-one meetings with market expert Anand Hemnani of Indo-Bras Brazil.
“Brazil is one of the most attractive markets in the world for U.S. packaging machinery manufacturers,” said Jorge Izquierdo, vice president of market development, PMMI. “Millions of Brazilians have joined a growing middle-class and the Brazilian real (BRL) has hit a nine-year high against the dollar.”
However, Brazil is a deeply complex market, and a lack of market understanding or insufficient forward planning can damage a venture for years to come.
Workshop participants from five PMMI member companies engaged in a two-hour interactive discussion led by management consultant Hemnani, then met with him individually in one-hour sessions with to address their specific business plans.
Each member received a thorough evaluation of their market potential, landed cost and personalized advice on the best expansion strategies for their company in the Brazilian market.
Whether members are considering entering or growing in the Brazil market, PMMI can help provide an understanding of where the opportunities and risks lie.
