In 2004, Rockline Industries, a manufacturer of coffee filters and wipe products, began developing a plan to reduce waste, eliminate bottlenecks and reduce cycle times on packaging and filling lines. The result of the process was a 10 to 15 percent improvement in overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) across wipe manufacturing lines.
“Rockline Industries’ story is a prime example of what this year’s Operations Conference is all about,” said Maria Ferrante, vice president of education and workforce development, PMMI. “This company saw an opportunity to change up their operations and find success, and they took it; which is why the company’s plant manager and director of operations will be on hand to share their insights at PMMI’s 2011 Operations Conference.”
This year’s Operations Conference, focused on Embracing Change and Improving Operations, will bring 2 days of expert packaging and processing industry insight to Tampa, Fla., March 8-10, 2011. This interactive event will include guidance on topics ranging from making the right hiring decisions for your company to leveraging the intellectual capital of the supply chain to changing manufacturing and safety standards in the global marketplace.
“Whether it’s a new generation of workers, new technology, new trends or simply new challenges, change is an inevitable part of the business landscape, and it’s the companies that create change that will find success,” Ferrante added. “The speakers we’ve scheduled for this year’s event have done just that.”
PMMI’s annual Operations Conference is designed to provide valuable knowledge and operational insight to packaging and processing machinery manufacturers and end users alike, producing a collaborative environment for the groups to work together to address changes in the packaging and processing industry.
